Childcare and children's enrichment activities are essential to successful kinship programs. In order for relative caregivers to participate in support groups, trainings, and other services, childcare must be offered. The provision of on-sight childcare not only allows the caregivers to participate in services but, affords the children the opportunity to socialize with peers in similar living situations, thereby establishing their own kinship community. The activities provided to the children include: homework assistance, art, games, music, exercise and recreation.
